Let us then try what Love will do
~ William Penn
Welcome to First Friends Meeting! We are a Quaker-Christian congregation, joyfully acting on the principle that there is “that of God in each person”. We have a particular tenderness to support people who are marginalized by society including people of color and people from the LGBTQ+ community. We are a congregation committed to continuing to learn and grow.
Our worship experience focuses on asking questions of our faith and actions. Revelation, we believe, is not only Biblical but also opening our hearts to seeing and experiencing God’s love. We promote simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship of the earth. We invite you to join us on this faith journey.
We now offer hybrid worship service: you may join by Zoom at bit.ly/FFWorship or in the Meetinghouse at 2010 Chester Blvd.
Sunday Morning Meeting Times:
9:30 a.m. – Meeting for Worship (worship service)
10:45 a.m. – Fellowship (social time)
11 a.m. – Adult Forum or Extended Fellowship
Our usual Sunday service has a query to contemplate, hymns, a time to share joys and concerns, prayer, Bible Scripture, a message, and the traditional Quaker silent open worship where people may speak from the silence as God gives them a message to share. During the school year, we offer Sunday School for children. Throughout the year, we have activities for children (and anyone who would like to use them) to enjoy alongside their families.
